“Simplicity in small spaces is sophistication in a whisper”
Hello, I'd like to introduce you to our daughter Toni. Here she shares some quick tips on small space decorating. Enjoy!
Hi, my name is Toni! I am FHS owners, Eddie and Rosanne's, daughter. I'm a guest writer today and I'd like to share some tips on how to decorate a small cabin! Here we go!
De-clutter! Less really can be more. Keep what you love and need. The rest really can go. You'll find that not only does your house feel more spacious and hospitable, but that you're mind will also feel de-cluttered and it may just be that extra spark you needed to finish that project... I find that my clean house inspires me to be more creative. It also makes it easier to sit and relax.
Neutrals give the atmosphere of airy, bright and spaciousness. Neutrals aren't just clean, but very welcoming. Take a look on Pinterest for soft neutrals to get a good idea.
Mirrors. Adding a mirror to a wall will give dimension. It's almost like extending your room. Hanging the mirror opposite a window will reflect light and also showcase your scenic outdoors. Try also putting little mirrors under candles or lights. This will create a brighter and larger effect.
Let in as much natural light as possible. Exchange your shutters, bulky curtains or blinds with lighter materials and hues. Even distribute your light by adding lamps. Shadows create the illusion of cramped corners.
Slender furniture and clean vertical lines make a room look much larger! Thin standing lamps, drapes and bookcases!
